Is Bloomfest a serene celebration of Downtown's Flower District? Not hardly. Bloomfest is the annual nod to the late Arts District pioneer Joel Bloom.

Bloomfest is Saturday, August 14, in Joel Bloom Square (East 3rd and Traction), in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles.
It has a band line-up that will shake out the ghosts of the nearby defunct Al's Bar. The afternoon of indie-punk-blues-garage-rock bands for Bloomfest is set. As with all street festival concerts, times are probable.
Bloomfest LA 2010 is the annual street fair named after the late Joel Bloom. This year, it includes artist studio tours and an after party, making for a full day in Joel Bloom Square. Details after the jump.
Don Garza never minces words with Eric Richardson and I. Frankly, he doesn't have to. Via Central City Blogger, Don has been covering Downtown as long as anyone has. Now with a print edition of blogdowntown hitting the streets today as blogdowntown Weekly, he was just excited.
