Angel's Flight Ready to Move

Olivet and Sinai, the two Angel Flight rail cars, were on a long-term temporary Arts District residency while waiting to return to its rails on Bunker Hill. This morning they were taken off racks, placed on trailers, and now are ready to cross downtown and return home. ETA;  sometime this weekend. Photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge.

Blue Dahlia Expands Hours

Blue Dahlia's Soo Young Lee sends word on new hours for her Arts District cafe and wine bar.  Tuesdays through Thursdays from 11:30 am to 10:30pm and Fridays from 11:30 am to 1 am, and for the weekend, they will be open on Saturdays from 10am to 1am, and Sunday from 10am to 10pm.,

Also, they heard the requests and starting Nov 4 will add fries to the menu, which woll go well with the popular Shortrib Burger.

Starting Tuesday, Nov 10, Blue Dahlia expands the wine menu with offerings from Spain, Chile, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and France, and will offer a Tuesday night burger and red wine special.

On Traction Ave, Meital gets ready to enter Groundwork Coffee dressed as a possessed coffee-drinker and  will not afraid to roll her eyes in disapproval if the soy latte is not just right.

Via Fanhouse: Shaqs thoughts on Gregg Popovich's using the Hack-a-Shaq during last spring's first-round series brought this response from the former Laker center. "When you're down, I can see using that as a strategy. But when you're up 10, 15 points, there's really no need for that. That's a coward move. And he knows that. I'll make 'em pay for that."

It just warms up the Spurs and Suns rivalry.

Question for the room

KTLA News had a quick segment on MTV returning to its roots by showcasing music videos, this time online. Now you can really waste time and watch over 16,000 music vids by artist or year.  Since there's no shortage of videos filmed around here and I am not up on my music video trivia, which video would you recommend for a playlist that shows off Downtown?

Extra points if the location is the Arts District.

It's My Life: Through my window, I watched a number of scenes filmed for this one. You can also spot the Santa Fe Freight Depot before it was converted to SCI-Arc.
Wait a Minute Stumbled upon the filming for this one at  4th and Spring.

In this viral three-minute vid from director Ron Howard, he returns to Mayberry as Opie then visits the Fonz as Richie Cunningham to lobby for Obama. And yes, Andy Griffith and Henry Winkler co-star. elp them." According to the Miami-Herald, Howard came up with the idea and teamed up with Adam McKay, the writing partner of comedian Will Ferrell and co-founder of the Web site Funny or Die.
